Another Zombie Apocalypse Character Thread

Figured I'd start a character thread here, if only to help me remember everyone's role, if they've died or not, and so on and so forth.  It may also be a source of info the story won't divulge at any point, such as favorite foods of some members, or things like who Howie (the Zombie) really was when he was alive.

Anything that needs spoiler-ification will either be spoiler-boxed or simply show up as '[redacted]' until I get to the point in the story where I can un-spoiler/edit the post to include it.

Anyways, since I've got a bit of time right now, but unfortunately not enough to boot my laptop and get to writing more AZA, I think I'll go ahead and post a character profile or two.

Name:  Dan Manson
Age:  28 (B-day:  June 23)
Height:  5' 11"
Weight:  190 lbs
Bio:
   Dan was twenty-one when the plague swept across the world.  Since he lived in a suburb of Los Angeles, California, his home was swarmed relatively early on, as the rapidly infected population of L.A. spread out looking for more food.  His mother and father both died in their home, and it was only after a nearly-failed attempt at getting a chainsaw started that he managed to escape.  It's worth noting that it was the morning after another friend's twenty-first birthday, and he was quite hung-over at the time.

   Prior to the plague, Dan worked flipping burgers at a local fast food restaurant and working at the movie theater at night.  He was fired from the theater gig when one of his college buddies gave him a very different reel for a re-showing of the movie 'Free Willy.'  Shortly after, he took the same friend to Las Vegas, got him drunk, switched hotels, and simply left him there.  He was last seen enjoying his new life in the big city.

   After the advent of the undead, Dan took to a mostly nomadic life, hanging around the southern United States because of the consistently warm temperatures.  He moved from town to town, always hiding out in whatever abandoned house he could find, finding any room that would work on the second floor and blocking off any other route to his little sanctuary.

   His last place of residence was in Brickwall, a small city that became a ghost town when the plague had swept through it.  While there, he ran into Alma as he attempted to raid her house, and together they were kidnapped by Drifters from Momma's group.  He was saved by Hunter and Zeke, who had come to wipe out the other Drifters because they were working as slavers, transporting people to certain Nester settlements to become laborers.

Anyways, I've added the 'Zombies Killed' feature to the profile.  At the moment, this is only counting how many zombies they've killed up to the current chapter, including before the events of the story (new one tonight, by the way), but I will be updating this at some point to include the zombies killed in later chapters.  So yes, Dan will rank up.  But not for a while yet.

In conclusion:  Dan's a N00B but he'll get better, the other Drifters will have high numbers of Z-Kills, and there's (maybe) a new chapter of Another Zombie Apocalypse coming your way.

I like this concept.  You could also add something like this to the first post too, as it's always at the top.

   When the plague hit, Alma's parents both took her straight to the fallout bunker they'd built beneath their house in case of a nuclear attack.  Their paranoia proved useful, as they survived the initial panic and waves of the infection with relative ease.  After three years, her father and mother decided to start leaving to check out what was going on in their town.  Tragedy struck, and Alma's mother was bitten.  Instead of shooting her, her father left her zombified mother outside and locked them both away in the bunker.

   Four years later, her father decided to venture out once more.  While he was away, he heard the Drifters in Momma's group coming into town and tried to get back home, but was ambushed by a small group of undead that had been waiting in a fenced in back yard and dismembered.  The Drifters found him, but he was little more than a blood spot and gnawed bones.  When the Drifters tried to grab her, she shot three of them (non-fatally), but they eventually overpowered her and took her to Momma.

   At Momma's instruction, a man named Kane cut her face, slicing her left eye in two.  When Hunter and his group raided Momma's camp, Charity entered the tent where Alma was being held by Kane and killed her tormenter.  Her damaged eye was later removed.

Name:  Richard Swanson
Age:  34 (B-Day:  Aug 25; deceased)
Height:  6' 1"

  Recognized as the town drunk of the small city of Brickwall, where the story begins in earnest, Richard was often maligned by the rest of the townspeople and avoided as a general rule.  Even so, he was a man with a generous heart of gold and a drive to do something good for the community.  But only on 'opposite day.'

  Despite being heavily inebriated when the plague hit Brickwall, he actually survived the longest, having camped out in his attic to drink since the local bars would offer him no more alcohol (this following an incident referred to only as 'the Rotten Egg incident' that he continued to deny involvement in up until the rest of the Brickwallians would no longer listen).  When he eventually ran out, he decided that he would break into a liquor store and get more.

   Unfortunately, he ran into a small army of the undead on the town's main street, with little hope of escaping.  Even so, he fended them off for a surprising amount of time with a broken bottle, despite his inebriation.  He was eventually overwhelmed, though, and was bitten on the rear when trying to moon the undead.  Surprisingly, he wasn't torn apart, but simply bitten and left to turn, suggesting either intelligence in the infected, or the fact that even in un-death, the citizens of Brickwall couldn't stand his guts.

  After being bitten, he wandered about Brickwall for a few years, never straying far from the ghost town.  Eventually, he ran into Dan, who lured him into the basement and locked him up.  He was re-killed when the Drifters invaded Brickwall and searched the house Dan was holed up in with Alma.

Name:  Hunter Sables

   In the first two years of the zombie apocalypse, an army was assembled to fight off the growing waves of the undead.  Hunter joined them on the day they were assembled, just a week after his 24th birthday.  He was one of the few survivors of the first, doomed 'Z-Sweep' of the overrun city of Las Vegas, which served as the first indicator that current military technology just wasn't enough.

   Hunter signed up to test out the prototypes of the newest gear, specifically designed for combat against multiple undead.  This included the dark blue armor that he continues to wear to this day, a product of the project dubbed 'Aegis.'  The bodysuit was part of the same project, serving as a last line of defense if the armor was pierced.

   Even with the advances in technology, there weren't enough men ready or able to take on the encroaching hordes of the damned, and the army disbanded as the higher-ups decided that the risk wasn't worth it.  Hunter kept his gear as a reminder of the people that he'd lost in the doomed raid on Las Vegas, and even had his old weapon modified to be able to serve him even after the army had fallen through.

   Hunter's career as a Drifter started by accident, when he met Charity on her way to a better Settlement from her hometown.  They both decided that the Settlement they were heading to wasn't any good, and kept moving, picking up Emmanuel and Punk along the way.  The decision to become Drifters was mutual, and they've been walking the same basic routes ever since.

   After running into an escapee from Momma's camp, Hunter and his group of Drifters attacked to free the rest of the would-be slaves from the cruel woman and her gang.  There Hunter found Dan and Alma, and had them join his group.

Name:  Emmanuel St. Claire
Age:  29 (B-Day:  September 7)
Height:  6' 2"

Bio:
   Emmanuel was born into a large family living Chicago, Illinois, and spent the first eighteen years of his life living like a spoiled prince in spite of the neighborhood he was being raised in.  His well-off parents spared him no expense, and bought him and his siblings whatever they wanted.  So when the plague finally hit, he barely survived the ensuing rush for survival in the big city.

   The seven years since have been one big lesson for Emmanuel, and he's all but forgotten his previous life as a member of the prestigious St. Claire family.  He prefers the simple life of a Drifter: pitching a tent every night, moving during the day, killing zombies when they get too close.  He's been with Hunter since the beginning, and though his group of Drifters have only been around for at least four years, all of the core members are close.

   When they ran across a captive from Momma's camp, the usually cautious Emmanuel sided with Punk, Zeke, Vince, and Jack when they proposed going after the rest of the captives and putting Momma and her slave trade out for good.  With only Pixie, Hunter, and Charity opposed, the decision was clear, and the raid began.
